The Hidden Pathway respects your privacy and aims to collect and use only the information reasonably necessary to provide our website, applications and services.   This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use:

• The Hidden Pathway website;

• the Tarot Foundations application on Apple iOS or Google Android;

• the Learn 78 Tarot Cards application on Apple iOS or Google Android; and

• related support and services provided by The Hidden Pathway.
   

1. Information We Collect

The information handled depends on which service or application you use.

The Hidden Pathway Website:  When you use The Hidden Pathway website, we may receive information that you choose to provide, such as:

• your name;

• your email address;

• information submitted through a contact or enquiry form; and

• other information you voluntarily provide when communicating with us.

The website may also use essential cookies, browser storage and technical information required for normal website operation, security and functionality.

Tarot Foundations App:  Tarot Foundations does not require you to create a The Hidden Pathway account.  Quiz progress, scores, learning progress, app settings and preferences may be stored locally on your device so that the app can remember your progress.  This information is used to provide the learning features of the app.   The Hidden Pathway does not use Tarot Foundations learning information for targeted advertising or advertising tracking.

Learn 78 Tarot Cards App:  Learn 78 Tarot Cards does not require you to create a separate The Hidden Pathway account.  Learning information may include:

• quiz progress;

• quiz scores;

• card-mastery information;

• learning progress;

• app settings; and

• learning preferences.

This information may be stored locally on your device so that the app can remember your learning progress.  The Hidden Pathway does not use this learning information for targeted advertising or advertising tracking.

Apple Devices

On supported Apple devices, Learn 78 Tarot Cards may use Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services to store and synchronise learning progress between compatible devices associated with your Apple environment.

Android Devices

On Android devices, learning progress is currently stored locally on the device.  The Android app does not currently use Supabase, Firebase or another The Hidden Pathway cloud account system to synchronise learning progress.  If cloud synchronisation is introduced to the Android app in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to identify the service being used and explain how information is handled before that functionality is introduced.
 

2. Purchases and Payments

Tarot Foundations is provided as a free learning application and does not require an in-app purchase to use its learning content.

Learn 78 Tarot Cards may offer paid access to additional or full-deck learning content.

Payment processing depends on the platform through which the app is obtained.

Apple App Store Purchases

Purchases made within the Apple version of Learn 78 Tarot Cards are processed by Apple through the App Store and Apple's in-app purchase services.  Apple processes your payment method and associated payment information according to Apple's own privacy practices and terms.  The Hidden Pathway does not receive or store your complete debit-card or credit-card number for purchases processed by Apple.  The application may receive purchase, transaction or entitlement information needed to determine whether paid content has been purchased, unlocked or restored.
 

Google Play Purchases

Purchases made within the Android version of Learn 78 Tarot Cards are processed through Google Play and Google Play Billing.  Google processes your payment method and associated payment information according to Google's own privacy practices and terms.  The Hidden Pathway does not receive or store your complete debit-card or credit-card number for purchases processed by Google Play.  The application may receive purchase, transaction or entitlement information needed to determine whether paid content has been purchased, unlocked or restored.
 

3. How We Use Information

Where information is collected or stored, we may use it to:

• provide and operate our website and applications;

• remember quiz and learning progress;

• provide card-learning, quiz and mastery features;

• synchronise learning progress where a supported synchronisation service is available;

• remember app settings and preferences;

• confirm entitlement to paid content;

• process, verify or restore purchases;

• respond to enquiries and provide customer or technical support;

• maintain the security and reliability of our website and applications;

• identify and resolve technical problems;

• maintain required financial and business records; and

• comply with applicable legal, taxation and accounting obligations.

The Hidden Pathway does not sell your personal information.  The Hidden Pathway does not use your tarot-learning progress for targeted advertising.  The Hidden Pathway does not use its apps to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.
 

4. Local Device Storage

Both Tarot Foundations and Learn 78 Tarot Cards may store information locally on your device.  This may include:

• quiz progress;

• scores;

• card-mastery progress;

• learning preferences;

• app settings; and

• purchase or unlock status where necessary.

Local storage allows the application to remember your progress and settings when you return to it.  Information stored only on your device is not separately held by The Hidden Pathway.  Removing the application's data, resetting the application where that option is available, or uninstalling the application may remove locally stored information.
 

5. Apple iCloud and CloudKit

The Apple version of Learn 78 Tarot Cards may use Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services to synchronise learning progress between compatible Apple devices.  Where this feature is used, learning information may be stored within Apple's infrastructure and associated with the user's Apple/iCloud environment.  Apple is responsible for operating iCloud and CloudKit and processes information according to Apple's own privacy policies and terms.  The Hidden Pathway uses this synchronised information only to provide learning and progress functionality.  Tarot Foundations does not require iCloud or CloudKit synchronisation for its normal learning functionality.
 

6. Apple and Google Platform Services

Our applications are distributed through platform services provided by Apple and Google.  These services may independently process technical, diagnostic, purchase, security, device or account information as part of operating:

• the Apple App Store;

• Apple in-app purchases;

• Apple iCloud and CloudKit;

• Google Play;

• Google Play Billing; and

• associated platform security, distribution and application-management services.

Information collected directly by Apple or Google is handled according to their respective privacy policies and terms.  The Hidden Pathway does not control the information that users separately provide to Apple or Google as part of their Apple or Google accounts.
 

7. Service Providers

We may use trusted service providers where reasonably necessary to operate our website and applications.  These may include:

• Wix, for The Hidden Pathway website hosting and website services;

• Apple, for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, iCloud, CloudKit and related Apple platform services;

• Google, for Google Play distribution, Google Play Billing and related Android platform services; and

• other technical, hosting, security or content-delivery providers reasonably necessary to operate the services.

These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and service terms.  The public Tarot Foundations and Learn 78 Tarot Cards applications do not use Supabase or Stripe for user accounts, learning-progress storage or in-app payment processing.
 

8. Cookies and Website Storage

The Hidden Pathway website may use cookies, browser storage or similar technologies to:

• provide essential website functions;

• remember appropriate settings;

• maintain website security;

• enable forms and other website functionality; and

• help identify whether the website is functioning correctly.

You can control some cookies and browser-stored information through your browser settings.  Disabling essential cookies or storage may prevent some website features from working correctly.
 

9. Analytics, Diagnostics and Technical Information

The Hidden Pathway does not use personal tarot-learning information for advertising profiling.  Apple, Google, Wix and other platform or hosting providers may collect diagnostic, performance, security or technical information as part of operating their services.  The Hidden Pathway may receive aggregated or technical information relating to application or website performance, crashes, downloads or operation where these platform services make that information available.  Information independently collected by these providers is also subject to their own privacy practices.
 

10. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or as required for legitimate business or legal purposes.  This may include purposes such as:

• providing our services;

• maintaining learning progress;

• confirming purchases or access rights;

• providing customer support;

• maintaining required financial and business records;

• resolving disputes;

• preventing fraud or misuse;

• protecting the security of our services; and

• complying with legal obligations.
   

Information Stored on Your Device:   Information stored locally by Tarot Foundations or Learn 78 Tarot Cards may remain on your device until:

• you use an available reset or deletion function;

• you clear the application's data;

• the operating system removes the data; or

• you uninstall the application.

Apple iCloud Information

Learning progress synchronised through Apple's iCloud or CloudKit services may also be subject to Apple's data-management and retention arrangements and controls associated with your Apple account.

Purchase Records

Apple and Google may retain transaction and purchase records according to their respective legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and platform requirements.  The Hidden Pathway may retain information reasonably necessary to identify or support a purchase, subject to applicable record-keeping requirements.
 

11. Security

The Hidden Pathway takes reasonable administrative, organisational and technical steps to protect personal information against misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.  Where information is transmitted over the internet through our services, we aim to use appropriate secure methods and trusted service providers.  However, no internet transmission, electronic storage system or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
 

12. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

You may contact The Hidden Pathway to request:

• access to personal information we hold about you;

• correction of inaccurate personal information;

• deletion of personal information held by The Hidden Pathway where appropriate;

• information about how your data is being handled; or

• assistance with a privacy-related concern.

Some information may need to be retained where required for legal, taxation, accounting, security, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.

Information that exists only locally within an application on your device is not held by The Hidden Pathway and can generally be removed using the application's available reset functions, clearing the app's data or uninstalling the application.  Information stored through Apple iCloud may also be subject to Apple's account and device-management controls.
 

13. Children's Privacy

The Hidden Pathway applications and learning tools are not specifically directed to children under 13 years of age.  We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13.  Where a higher minimum age applies under applicable law or platform requirements, that higher age requirement will apply.  A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information directly to The Hidden Pathway may contact us to request that it be reviewed or removed.
 

14. International Data Processing

Some service providers used by The Hidden Pathway may process or store information outside Australia.  This may include services operated by Apple, Google, Wix or other technology providers.  The location in which information is processed may vary according to the infrastructure used by those providers.  Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between countries.  Where applicable, The Hidden Pathway takes reasonable steps appropriate to its circumstances to ensure personal information is handled appropriately.
 

15. Third-Party Links

The Hidden Pathway website and applications may contain links to third-party websites or services.  The Hidden Pathway is not responsible for the privacy practices, security or content of those third-party services.  We recommend reviewing the privacy information provided by a third party before providing personal information to that service.

If you have a question, concern or complaint about privacy, please contact The Hidden Pathway using the contact details or contact form provided on The Hidden Pathway website.  Please provide enough information for us to understand and investigate your enquiry.  We will aim to acknowledge and respond to privacy enquiries or complaints within a reasonable period.  Where applicable, if you are not satisfied with our response you may have the right to raise your privacy concern with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
 

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, applications, technology, service providers, platform requirements or legal obligations change.

The current version will be published on The Hidden Pathway website with a revised Last updated date.  If a new service changes how personal information is collected, stored, used or shared, the Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
